Brazilian midfielder Fabio Dos Santos Gama was up to his usual tricks on Sunday afternoon during Asante Kotoko’s 1-2 defeat to ES Setif in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Reds’ superstar went viral across social media after delivering yet another jaw-dropping piece of skill to leave an opposing defender for dead with a nutmeg.
Naturally, football fans who were at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday were left in awe after watching the 28-year-old’s feet do their thing, but Gama’s performance against Setif was about far more than just silky skills.
Gama is capable of dictating the tempo of a game and kickstarting attacks from deep – much like Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
You can watch Fabio Gama’s highlights against ES Setif below and we’ve also included a short video of his aforementioned skill, just to please all you football lovers out there.
His work rate was excellent, helping set up Kwame Opoku’s goal by delivering a pass to Emmanuel Gyamfi who last sent in a through ball to locate Opoku who scored the opener.
Gama joined the Porcupine Warriors in October this year on a free transfer before the end of the transfer window.
Fabio Gama is the third Brazilian to sign for Kotoko in the last 15 years and the fourth to join a Ghana premier league club following Gleisson de Souza Ferreira in 2005 and Hermes da Silva in 2013 for the Porcupines and Lozano Silva for Hearts of Oak in 2016.
