Asante Kotoko forward Augustine Okrah sparked a debate on Saturday night when he was judged not to have scored in the club’s 1-0 win over Legon Cities in Accra.
The 27-year-old initially looked to have scored from a Fabio Gama Freekick to give the Porcupines the important win in their matchweek 22 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Many fans, media outlets etc after watching television replays argued that Okrah did not have contact with the ball but his effort fooled the goalkeeper and contributed to the goal.
The goal was widely credited to Fabio Gama but the club after careful review of the video footage noticed Okrah got a touch on the ball before beating the goalkeeper to find its way into the net.
This makes it Okrah’s first goal of the season.
After careful review of the video footage of yesterday's goal against Legon Cities, we notice Augustine Okrah got a touch of Fabio Gama's free-kick. Okrah is, therefore, credited with the goal.#AKSC #CITKOT #GPLMD22 pic.twitter.com/UJ1AUjMnUG
