Ghanaian international, Umar Bashiru appears set to finally agree to a new contract deal with Karela United, according to reports in the media.
It is reported that, the player won’t join Asante Kotoko and that full agreement has been reached with Aiyinase-based club over a new deal that will see the 25-year-old accept an improved salary to continue his career at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.
While Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have been linked with him, it looks as though Umar’s priority was always to continue with Karela United, despite his agents testing the waters across Ghana, it’s now understood that only final approval is required over his new contract that will secure him at the club until 2023.
Umar has been a priority for Kobi Mensah’s side with 15 goals in 27 appearances in Ghana’s top flight last season and assisted 13 goals.
