Transfer News: Asante Kotoko And Karela United Reportedly Target Swap Deal


This could be a massively exciting one. Reports say Emmanuel Keyekeh could return to Karela United, while Umar Bashiru heads in the opposite direction to Asante Kotoko.

Keyekeh joined Kotoko from Karela in 2020 but has struggled due to various injuries and has failed to impressed the Reds fraternity and reports say he has been a target for many Premier League clubs including Aduana Stars and Medeama.

Umar Bashiru, on the other hand, joined Karela after a torrid time with the Porcupines from West African Football Academy (WAFA) in 2018 under C.K Akonnor’s era.

He was an integral member of Akonnor’s side that reached the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup and left the club the following season on mutual consent.

Bashiru has made 31 appearances for Karela United this season and has scored 14 goals with 3 assists as a midfielder.

According to former Kotoko Communications Director and Silver FM journalist Obed Acheampong’s sources, Bashiru is now wanted by Kotoko. It is believed that the club is interested to secure a swap deal that would send Keyekeh back to the Ayinase-club.
