Asante Kotoko has just signed Brazilian midfielder Fabio Dos Santos Gama on a two-year deal.
The arrival of the 28-year-old comes a welcome addition to an already star-studded side, who have added Latif Anabila and Black stars goalkeeper, Razak Abloah to their set up.
The midfielder is the third Brazilian to sign for Kotoko in the last 15 years following Gleisson de Souza Ferreira in 2005 and Hermes da Silva in 2013.
The nimble-footed central midfielder can play as a left-winger, force nine or a number 10. And will definitely add creativity to an otherwise flat midfield.
As the Kumasi-based club prepare for their CAF Champions League campaign as well as the Ghana Premier League, they will certainly need more hands on deck to make achieving success a lot easier.
The signing of the Brazilian adds to CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah’s plan of making the Kotoko brand a viable international standard. And will definitely go a long way into attracting a lot of sponsors for the club.
Social media users trooped to the Kotoko official Twitter page to leave raving comments and reviews after they announced the player.
Here are a few sampled reactions

Welcome Fabio. It will be wise not to try any slide celebration of any kind unless you have callus knees.

I'm a Phobia Fan through and through but stuff like this, marketing-wise, is good for the league. Hopefully, it's going to attract more foreign players to mix up the dynamics of the league. #BringBackTheLove

In fact Nana Yaw Amponsah and his board are doing a great job they're making Asante Kotoko look Foreign… This board is even above club football in fact they must be in charge of Ghana Football and GFA as a whole

After watching his 15 mins video on YouTube, I think he's a good dribbler of the ball. Very fast, has pace and quick thinker. Passing accuracy is good. Doesn’t have much power behind the ball when shooting though.

I suggest we should start making billboards with our superstars to get personal sponsors ✅✅
