West African Football Academy (WAFA) center-back, Konadu Yiadom is close to joining Asante Kotoko in the January transfer window.
Yiadom was one of the standout players for the Sogakope-based side in the just ended 2022/21 season and has been a pillar for his team at the back this season despite their poor run of form.
The Porcupines want to beef up their squad in a bid to win this season’s Premier League title after ending the 2020-21 season trophyless.
Reports in the local media suggest that the highly-rated centre-back is almost a Porcupine and will play his last game for WAFA against Bechem United.
The former Tema United defender was expected to join Hearts of Oak before the start of the season but the move fell through after both parties failed to agree terms.
Kotoko have swiftly stepped in to capture the 21-year-old who is rated as one of the best defenders in the country.
Yiadom managed to score three times in his 32 game outings for West African Football Academy SC in then2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have already captured the services of Justice Blay on a two-year deal.
