Ogum, Mfegue, Abalora, Others React To Franck Etouga’s Maiden Cameroon National Team Call-Up


The Porcupines fraternity have lauded striker Franck Mbella Etouga for his call-up to the Cameroonian National team.

The forward was named in a 34-man squad released by head coach Rigobert Song to face Kenya and Burundi in June.

In a letter sent to Asante Kotoko, the player is expected to join camp on May 30th as the team starts preparations for the qualifiers.

Mbella has scored 19 goals so far in the Ghana Premier League making him the leading goalscorer in the domestic top-flight.

The 20-year-old will look forward to establish himself into the squad should he get an opportunity to play in the double header against Kenya and Burundi next Month.

Reacting to his call up, countryman and teammate Georges Mfegue on Facebook said; my congratulations my brother for your first convocation with the indomitable lions the nation calls you you deserve🇨🇲✌❤⚽️@Mbella Etouga

His head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum also congratulated the 20-year-old and challenged him to go and make the Kotoko family proud.

Former teammate, Razak Abalora also pat Mbella for his success.

Also, Augustine Agyapong who’s on a national assignment with the Black Satellites in Niger also received the news with excitement for his teammate.

Kotoko are reported to have received several offers for the youngster with the likes of Seville, St Etienne and Fenerbache all in pursuit for the striker.
