The Confederation of Africa Football has cancelled the Preliminary stage of the Champions league match between Asante Kotoko and Nouadhibou FC after the Mauritanians refused to allow two of their players to be removed from the squad after testing Positive
Delay in the results of COVID-19 test samples from the Nyaho Medical centre for the away side, Nouadhibou FC necessitated the delay to the start of the game.
The two teams run fresh COVID-19 tests over the last 24 hours after the initial test results became bone for contention.
CAF was forced to reschedule the game to Sunday December 6, 2020 after Nouadhibou FC officials failed to remove from their list players who tested Positive to the initial test.
The new Directive means Ghana Champions Asante Kotoko walk on to the next stage of the competition.
Asante Kotoko will now face Al Hilal of Sudan in the second round of the competition.
