On Monday, June 29, 2020, the owner and life patron of Asante Kotoko Otumfuo Osei Tutu II beefed up the already-formed nine-member Board of Directors of the Reds with three additions, making 12.
One of the three appointees was Mr Martin Osei Kwaku Brobbey, who is the Managing Director at Lexta Ghana Limited, together with Mr James Brown and Kofi Amoa-Abban. The 12-man board is chaired Dr Kwame Kyei with Mr Jude Arthur as his vice.
Reacting to his appointment in an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, the business mogul reiterated his readiness to work for the club and stated his ambition to instil professionalism in the day-to-day running of Asante Kotoko.
“I am coming to Kotoko to help run the club Professionally, not sidelining the supporters.
I will make sure we have a day with the fans to make them feel part of the club.
We will share ideas with them, solicit advice from them on all policies
Kotoko should not be run by one man, all financial burden on a person but it should not be so, all hands should be on deck”
The other members of the Kotoko board comprise Mr Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi, Board Chairman, Exim Bank, Mr Kwasi Osei Fori, Chief Executive Officer, Edmark Group/Rockshore Mining Limited, Kwabena Mensah, Corporate Lawyer, Joseph Yaw Addo, former Director of Sports, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Baffour Kwame Kusi, Ankobeahene, Mrs Evelyn Nsiah Asare, Director of Sports, Sunyani Technical University, and Alhaji Abu Lamin, Bussiness man.
The constituted board has been tasked to provide the club with the stability of a professional administration equipped with the technological and analytical skills appropriate for the administration of a professional sporting club as well as setting up Asante Kotoko SC Academy and establish a new social compact with Asanteman to provide opportunities for the development of the youth within the communities for advancement through sports.
