Zakaria Mumuni became a hot cake for most top clubs in Ghana after ending his stay in the Congolese Topflight Division last season.
Asante Kotoko emerged as favourites to land the star since his departure from AS Vita Club, but the ex-Aduana Stars winger rejected the Porcupines to join rivals Medeama SC.
The timing was wrong to sign for Asante Kotoko, according to Zakaria who disclosed in an interview with Oyerepa FM, via Ghanasoccernet.com
“It’s true a lot of clubs were chasing me but Medeama looked more purposeful so signed for them but for Kotoko I don’t think the time was right when it is I will play for them.”
“There were some complications especially the ban they are serving, I couldn’t have waited till it’s lifted because that’s what I do for a living,” he said.
Zakaria Mumuni was a force to reckon in the Ghana Premier League during his spell with WAFA and Aduana Stars.
He led the Dormaa giants to their second league title glory and qualified them to their first-ever appearance in the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup.
