Medeama Coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu Sends Classy Message To Kotoko Fans Ahead Of New Season

Newly-appointed Medeama SC head coach, Ignatius Osei-Fosu has called on the supporters of the club to have patience for new head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum ahead of the new season.

Following the termination of Mariano Barreto’s contract at the end of the 2020/21 season, the hierarchy of the club has hired the services of Prosper Narteh Ogum.

The University of Cape Coast lecturer signed a two-year deal with the Porcupines ahead of the 2021/22 football season.

Despite ending last season trophyless, Osei-Fosu has advised the supporters front to have time for Ogum to build a team capable of winning trophies.

“The first thing is to lower their expectations. The team has a new coach, more of a new technical direction and you have added about 15 new players so it will not be like a team that has been there for some time,” he told Kumasi-based Luv FM.

“When they start and things don’t go as expected, let the fans not be angry because is part of the deal that football is not magic. Football is played with principles, it is also a gradual process. I trust Prosper Narteh, the process will come.”

Earlier today, Kotoko lost their first preseason friendly to Dubai-based Al Hilal United at the Al Hamriyah Sports and Cultural Stadium.

The Porcupines are on a 14-day tour in the Gulf country preparing for the 2021/22 football season which has been scheduled to kick off on October 29 with Kotoko traveling to Dawu to take on Dreams FC in matchweek 1.
