Brazilian magician Fabio Gama Dos Santos is in the final year of his contract with Asante Kotoko.
Gama joined Kotoko in October 2020, penning a two-year deal that will run out at the end of the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season.
The Brazilian import, despite criticisms surrounding his arrival, has worked his way to become the fans’ favourite and the fabulous family would not want to see the playmaker leave after two seasons in the famous red shirt.
However, officials of Asante Kotoko have already opened negotiations with the 28-year-old for a possible renewal.
Myfabulousonline can reveal that, talks are far advanced for a contract extension deal to be agreed with Fabio Gama in the coming days. He is expected to pen a new two-year deal with an improved salary.
Gama was one of the best players who performed creditably for Asante Kotoko last season despite the team losing the league title to rivals Hearts of Oak.
The Brazilian was involved in seven goals last season, scoring three and assisting four times.
This season, he has featured in all five games for the Porcupines, involving in two goals, providing one assist. Gama is expected to play a major role as the team aims to win the Ghana Premier League title.
Asante Kotoko will host King Faisal at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday afternoon in a game dubbed, the Kumasi Derby.
