Kwame Opoku’s Representative Rubbishes Contract Termination Reports, Confirms Offers For The Striker
Leslie Kuku Bartels, President of lower-tier side Nkoranza Warriors and representative of Asante Kotoko striker, Kwame OPoku has rubbished reports that his client has requested for his contract to be terminated with the Porcupines.
Earlier this morning, reports gathered from Kumasi indicated that Opoku has had a lot of offers on his table and has written to the Porcupines management to abrogate his deal to enable him to leave for free.
Setting the records straight, Kuku Bartels in an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM debunked such claims in the media, though confirmed that clubs are after his client’s signature.
“It’s not true we have written to Kotoko asking for termination of contract. Though there has been offers for Kwame Opoku but they (Kotoko) have the right to sell or not. I am surprised at hearing news of the player wanting to leave the club”
“He has a 3-year contract with Kotoko and he is happy at the club. To the best of my knowledge whatever the club has to do for him, they have”
Kwame Opoku joined the Porcupines from Division One side, Nkoranza Warriors and the prodigy has been instrumental in attack for Johnson Smith’s team since the start of the 2020/2021 football season.
He has plundered seven goals in 13 matches for Asante Kotoko so far this season in the Ghana premier league and once in four African games for the Reds.
According to the reports, North African African giants, Zamalek, Al Ahly, USM Algiers, Qatari club Al Saad and Congolese side AS Vita Club are said to have expressed interest in signing the 21-year-old striker.
