Asante Kotoko defender Habib Mohammed had a special message for his ‘father’ Asamoah Gyan after helping the Porcupines beat Legon Cities at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night.
The two came up against each other on Friday night as Maxwell Konadu’s men secured a 1-0 win over the Royals to record their first win of the 2020/2021 Ghana premier league season.
Osman Ibrahim’s 11th-minute effort handed the Porcupines all three points over The Royals who threw on Ghana legend Gyan in the second half in a desperate attempt for an equaliser.
The 35-year-old was introduced into the game on the hour-mark but could not help pull the equaliser as he was heavily marked out of the game by Habib Mohammed and Abdul Ganiu.
However, Habib after the game took to Twitter to pay tribute to the former Black Stars captain, telling Gyan to try again later with Gyan also congratulating the 23-year-old on his performance on the night.
Herrrr bad boy 😂😂😂. Good game yesterday bro. I’m in the process so don’t worry wai.😉😉. Happy birthday too. Enjoy for me son 🔥🔥🙏
