Ugandan striker George Abege insists he was not a failure during his spell at Asante Kotoko.
The lanky forward signed a 3-year-deal with Kotoko for $2500 from Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks in 2019, but just after 6-month. However, his contract was mutually terminated earlier this year after failing to score goals, and play, on a regular basis for the Kumasi-based club.
Having won the 2019 President’s Cup with the club before his departure, the lanky forward says he does not see himself as a failure despite Kotoko supporters tagging him as one.
“A failure is determined on how somebody want to see it, if you say am a failure I don’t have a problem, but for me I think I did my part as a player”- Abege Told Wontumi Radio.
“My time at kotoko was a big challenge for me no doubt about that but I won’t say I failed.
“I will thank Kotoko for the opportunity they gave me and I feel honored, But what I know is, I did my possible best.” He ended.
George Abege played just five competitive games during his five months marriage with the Porcupines where he failed to score or provide an assist before his contract was eventually terminated in January 2020.
