G. T. V: A New Attacking Trio Is Finally Born At Asante Kotoko SC
Fabio Gama, Sarfo Taylor and Michael Vinicius need to knit together and begin to fire
The 2020/2021 football season will go down as the year of big transfers for Asante Kotoko. Management of Kotoko have assembled what is said to be the best trio to ever happen in Ghana Football in recent years.
Fabio Gama, Sarfo Taylor and Michael Vinicius is the new trio being assembled by Asante Kotoko. GTV is the new trend that has actually gotten everyone talking on social media after the signing of the Brazilian striker.
With Gama and Vinicius hailing from Brazil and Taylor from Ghana, it is expected that the trio comes up with sterling performances against any team when given the platform. The trio is expected to operate as a complete force with the surreal ball control and agility of Gama, great movement and positioning of Taylor and the clinical finishes of Vinicius to help bag the league as the second round is soon to commence.
In the second round of the season, Sarfo Taylor, Michael Vinicius and a fully bedded Fabio Gama is expected to give opposition goalkeepers sleepless nights, theoretically, the Porcupines should score even more.
Given the expenditure this summer, Kotoko will be expected to challenge for the premier league title and anything lower than that will be classed as a failure for Johnson Smith and his men.
Michael Vinicius steps in the team to fill the gap left by the leading member of Asante Kotoko campaign this season, Kwame Opoku. He is expected to bag in the goals like their former goal monger did in the first round. Vinicius has a career statistic of 77 games with 14 goals and an assist to his name.
Sarfo Taylor is a known name in the league. He’s had previous stints at Karela and in the second-tier Danish side with Vendsyssel FF. Sarfo Taylor was instrumental for Karela United in the Special Competition in 2019, netting five times in the competition as his partnership with Diawisie Taylor earned them a second-place finish after losing the finals to Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium and is expected to be a great addition to Kotoko.
Asante Kotoko’s newest triple threat each have intriguing facets to their respective games, including Sarfo Taylor’s tactical flexibility and use as a false nine, and Vinicius’s all-round forward play in the face of suggestions he is merely a poacher. Knitting their respective styles together will take some work, and the prospect of a 10-goal season for each player is a long way off, nigh impossible, and as such should not be the expectation.
With Fabio Gama operating from his usual left side of the attack, Sarfo Taylor on the right and Michael Vinicius leading the lines, It is the wish of every Asante Kotoko fan that this “G T V” trio drive the team into the glory days again.
