Ghanaian international Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has hailed the qualities of newly-signed Asante Kotoko forward Stephen Amankona.
The 21-year-old completed a three-year deal to the Porcupines few weeks ago from premier league outfit Berekum Chelsea.
The nimble-footed player enjoyed a remarkable 2020-21 campaign with the Bibires, courting interest from many clubs including Medeama, Hearts of Oak, and Ashantigold before Kotoko won the race.
Amankona was sensational and undoubtedly one of the best players in the league last season having scored 15 goals in all competitions in the 2020-21 campaign, coupled with 7 assists, alongside three man-of-the-match awards in the GPL.
Sharing his thoughts on the highly-rated striker, the former Kotoko midfielder who’s currently without a club after several years abroad showered healed praise on Amankona.
“I know him (Amankona) to be a workaholic player. He’s the type of striker who worries defenders a lot with his skills and speed, he’s strong and also a clinical finisher so no defender would love to come up against such a player. When you look at the current players signed and the old ones already there, it is a blend of experienced and youth which will soon glitter,” he said in an interview with Myfabulousonline.com
Stephen Amankona is expected to play a key in Asante Kotoko’s campaign as the Reds seek to end their premier league trophy drought this season.
