Karela United midfielder Umar Bashiru is self-assured of victory against his former club Asante Kotoko on matchday five of the Ghana Premier League.
The ‘Passioners’ will welcome the Porcupine Warriors to the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park on Sunday.
Asante Kotoko handed Karela United its first-ever defeat at the then “fortress” in week 13 of the 2020/21 season with goals from Ex-Passioner Imoro Ibrahim and Kwame Opoku.
The Pride and Passion lads were humbled 2-0 by regional rivals Medeama SC last week at the Akoon Park.
Speaking to Domesticsportsgh.com ahead of the crucial game, the 24-year old who joined Karela United after leaving Kotoko says he feels no pressure and believes the Passioners will score Kotoko to recover from Monday’s defeat in Tarkwa and also end Kotoko’s unbeaten streak.
“It is a normal feeling when playing against Kotoko, although, it’s one of the biggest games, we will score Kotoko on Sunday”.
“I missed last season’s defeat here in CAM Park due to card accumulation but I will do my best to help the club deliver on Sunday”.he added.
