Former Asante Kotoko striker, Kwame Opoku claims he sees himself in new boy Francis Andy Kumi.
Opoku, who currently plies his trade in Algeria for USM Algers joined the Porcupines family from Nkoranza Warriors and won the hearts of our teeming fans after impressive performances for the club.
He had a successful half-season spell with the Porcupines in his first year where he scored 9 goals in 16 matches in all competitions. However, Opoku has called on the fans to offer Andy Kumi whom he believes share the same qualities with the same support they gave him during his spell in Kumasi to succeed.
“The players who are in as my replacement, I see myself in most of them especially Andy Kumi Francis who has scored 3 goals already for Kotoko,” he said in an interview with Kumasi FM.
“Kumi is like me, and if the supporters give him the same believe they had in me, he will play to the best.” He runs the same way I do and plays the team out of his heart, I wish him and the club well.” He concluded.
Andy Kumi joined the Reds from Unistar Academy in the February transfer window and has score three goals in six appearances for Mariano Barreto’s side.
