Cameroonian Strikers Mfegue Georges, Mbella Etouga Jet-Off To Dubai To Join Kotoko For Preseason
Asante Kotoko’s Cameroonian forwards, Mbella Etouga Mbella Thierry and Georges Rodrique Mfegue Omgba on Saturday evening left the Douala International Airport to join the Reds’ preseason tour in Dubai.
Etouga, 20, joined the Reds on a three year deal from AS Fortuna in the Cameroonian top-flight.
In the just ended Cameroonian league, Etouga netted eight goals and registered nine assists in 21 matches for AS Fortuna.
Etouga was a part of the Cameroon team that reached the quarter-final of the 2021 Under-20 African cup of Nations Tournament in Mauritania in January which Ghana eventually won.
He also helped Cameroon win the 2020 Zonal tournament – UNIFFAC in December 2020 in Equatorial Guinea, scoring a goal and assisting once in the process.
Mfegue Georges also joined the Porcupines from Avion Academy of Douala on a one-year deal with an option to renew.
Mfegue, 24, masterminded Avion’s promotion to the Cameroonian top-flight in 2018 as one of the club’s main attacking options and has since been the club’s top scorer in the last three campaigns.
Noted for his speed, power and exquisite finishing ability in the final third. Mfegue scored 26 goals all-together for Avion Academy in the Cameroonian top-flight and was the captain of the club.
The duo, Mfegue and Mbella this evening left Cameroon en-route to Dubai to join the rest of their colleagues in pre-season training and friendlies.
The Porcupines will play their second preseason game against lower-tier side Liwa FC on Sunday evening but the duo will not take part but will be available for the club’s last preseason game next week before they return to Ghana.
