CAF CL: Kotoko’s Emmanuel Keyekeh Plays Down FC Nouadhibou Threat
Kotoko midfielder, Emmanuel Keyekeh speaking ahead of this afternoon's crucial CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg fixture against FC Nouadhibou, has insisted that the fate of the Fabulous club is in the hands of the players and that their recent form will not matter too much.
Asante Kotoko midfielder, Emmanuel Keyekeh has played down the threat posed by FC Nouadhibou as the two clubs face off this evening in the CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg fixture in Mauritania.
Keyekeh who has been in scintillating form since joining the Porcupines from Karela United this season will be making his debut in African club-competition, having played the club’s first two games in the ongoing Ghana premier league against Eleven Wonders and Berekum Chelsea.
The 22-year-old will spearhead Maxwell Konadu’s midfield in the first leg clash at the Cheikha Bodiya Stadium and sees the Mauritanian champions as no threat to Kotoko. He further assured that they will play their heart out and return to Ghana with a win ahead of the return leg in Accra next weekend.
“We are picking so much experience from the league so I see the Champions League not to be something different, It’s football we are coming to play and we will do our best and I know our best will pay off,” Keyekeh said in an interview with the club’s media in Mauritania in a video posted on Ceek.
“I’ve never underrated any team and that’s my mentality always but we will fight and give out our best. We are Kotoko and we don’t know defeat, We stand and fight without running. The fact that the team (FC Nouadhibou) has been good for the couple of years doesn’t put any fear in us, though we know they are a very good side but we will play our heart out for a win”
“We are going to Kumasi with a victory,” he ended by assuring the fans.
The game will be played on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at the Stade Cheikha Bodiya in Nouakchott at 4:00 local time.
