Bayern Munich U16 coach Christian Saba has given a glowing verdict on Asante Kotoko’s Mathew Anim Cudjoe after he seriously announced himself to the Bavarians during a two-week trials months ago.
Cudjoe, 16, was invited by the Bavarians to train with their U19 team which is being managed by Bayern Munich and Germany legend Miroslav Klose.
Ex-Ghana youth international Christian Saba, who is a youth coach at Bayern Munich’s U16 in an interview with godfred.substack.com said, he first watch the young talent when Hearts of Oak played against Asante Kotoko in the 2019-20 Ghana Premier League and was impressed before his arrival in Germany.
“Ghanaians should protect that kid. I did not know much about him until the Kotoko and Hearts game. Once he touched the ball I knew he was a good talent,” said Saba who was on hand to supervise and assess.
“I did not even know he was heading to Bayern until members of the technical team called to ask if I knew about him. Talent like his comes once in a while. We are watching.”
Meanwhile, other European giants like French giants Lyon and PSG have all reportedly showed interest in the youngster, however, Bayern Munich have the first option on the hugely talented kid after a successful trial.
