Augustine Okrah has extended his congratulations to Asante Kotoko teammates Francis Andy Kumi and Micheal Vinicius after the duo scored their maiden goals for the club on Wednesday afternoon.
Kumi and Vinicius joined the Porcupines prior to the start of the second round of the 2020/2021 football season.
In Kumi’s first game for Kotoko last weekend against Eleven Wonder in Techiman, he managed to impress but failed to register his name on the scoresheet after coming on in the second half whereas Michael Vinicius was making his first appearance for the club after two weeks of arriving in the country.
In Matchday 16 outstanding encounter against Bechem United at the Len Clay Stadium, Kumi finally had his breakthrough as he scored in the Reds’ 4-0 thrashing of the Hunters after heading home a beautiful cross from Imoro Ibrahim in the second half.
Vinicius, on the other hand, came on as a second-half replacement for Andy Kumi Francis in the 79th-minute and scored the 4th goal for his team and his first in Kotoko jersey in the 82nd minute as Kotoko put the game completely beyond Bechem United.
In a Twitter post at the end of the game, Augustine Okrah who also played a major role in the game has congratulated Kumi and Vinicius as he believes the duo will help the club achieve its goals going forward.
“Well done Michael Vinicius and Andy Kumi following your debut goals for this great club today in Obuasi. I believe your addition will make us better with time. We trust you. Kotoko is going straight to the top.”
