Asante Kotoko have arrived in Ghana after the return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff round game against ES Setif in Algeria.
The Ghanaian giants touched down at the Kotoko International Airport on Monday evening.
The gallant warriors held the Algerians to a goalless stalemate last Sunday, but that wasn’t enough as the Reds bowed out of the competition following their 2-1 loss in Accra last week.
The Porcupines lost the first leg 2-1 at home on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at the Accra Sports Stadium, making things complicated for them in the second leg away in Algeria.
With a herculean task of overturning the result on the second leg, Johnson Smith’s team managed to avoid conceding in the game, a result most of the team fans were excited about.
Asante Kotoko was Ghana’s sole representative in Africa at this stage of the competition.
The team will continue with preparations for the next game against Bechem United on Thursday and next weekend’s Super Clash against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak.
