Asante Kotoko Coach Mariano Barreto Not Satisfied Despite Heavy Win Over Bechem Utd
The former Black Stars coach reflected on his maiden Ghana premier league match in charge of the Porcupines.
New Asante Kotoko head coach Mariano Barreto was not satisfied with his side’s performance in their victory over Bechem United on Wednesday afternoon.
The Portuguese tactician guided the Kumasi giants to a 4 -0 win over the Hunters in his first match in charge of the team.
Barreto explained he was not happy with the team’s finishing in front of goal as the Reds missed several chances during the match which was played at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
“I am not happy. We should have won by 8 nil or 9 nil.” Barreto said after the game, ” he said in a post-match interview.
“We created many chances that we should have scored more,” he added.
Abdul Ganiu opened the scoring before Fabio Gama doubled Kotoko’s lead in the 44th minute to end the first half 2-0 for the home side.
Youngster Andy Kumi Francis and Brazilian striker Michael Vinicius bagged the 3rd and 4th goals respectively.
The win moves Kotoko to the third position on 31 points, two points adrift of leaders Great Olympics and a point behind second-placed Karela United.
